This wine is outstanding, dark ruby/purple-colored with notes of creme de cassis, tobacco leaf, and some melted licorice and gamey animal notes. It is medium to full-bodied, has high tannin, moderate acidity and admirable purity and depth.

Short Description

Smoky and nicely concentrated blackcurrant Cabernet fruit, smooth, even a little chocolatey, very good natural ripeness and none of the greenness or rawness of the vintage, an attractive, plummy, classy wine.

CROIX DE BEAUCAILLOU 2012

 

Bright cherry, blackberry and plum fruit is laced with violet, bay leaf and juniper notes, all carried by energetic, brambly structure through the finish.

RESERVE DE LA COMTESSE 2009

 

Bright and sappy, with kirsch and damson plum notes streaking along, followed by tangy iron and floral notes. Good zip and cut along the finish, with a lingering mineral edge.

LES FORTS DE LATOUR 2009

A very pure nose with raspberry, Morello cherry and a touch of dark chocolate. The palate is symmetrical, supremely well focused with hints of liquorice and mulberry. The mineralite cloaked by the primacy of the fruit with graphite on the aftertaste.
